    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING: 

    We are looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Applied Research + Consulting (ARC) team who will focus on helping clients achieve their organizational ambitions by activating their work experience. Our Applied Research + Consulting team connects clients to Steelcase’s extensive research on work, workers and the workplace to help them achieve organizational success. We consider client’s work experience in a holistic way, helping clients understand how their organization’s culture, processes and tools impact their workspace (and vice versa) to support their organizational ambitions. Your role is to sell consulting engagements to executive management at major corporations and universities, and to lead a team in the execution of these engagements. Key areas of responsibility include: 

     

    • Generate new business development opportunities for Applied Research + Consulting, resulting in selling for fee consulting engagements  
    • Lead a team of consultants in executing these engagements, while playing an active role in the execution (planning, developing material for workshops, writing the client deliverable,etc). Need to be able to sell and do; actively rolling up your sleeves with the team to do the work. 
    • Sometimes playing a team member, support role on a team executing an engagement so another consultant can have the opportunity to lead and you provide coaching / mentorship  
    • Navigate internal and external resources and processes to achieve client expectations of significant work experience improvement 
    • Partner with the Steelcase Sales team and our dealer partners to identify client issues, pitch our capabilities, develop strategic solutions, and ultimately position us to win 
    • Assume a team leadership role for our clients and help mentor and develop other ARC team members.

      

     

    WHO YOU ARE: 

    You are a professional Senior Consultant who is deeply curious, passionate about research, and enjoys helping clients self-discover and solve problems. You are highly skilled in both selling and executing consulting services to clients (corporate and education) and can effectively lead and manage multiple consulting engagements simultaneously. You have a deep understanding of consulting methodologies, having established new practices. You have strong investigative and analytical skills (financial, business, etc.) and the ability to research, process and share pertinent topical information. You maintain a high level of credibility with senior level management and have a desire to lead and mentor others. You excel in writing and verbally communicating complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences, and possess both formal and informal presentation and facilitation skills. 

     

    EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: 

    This is an advanced consulting role that typically requires a minimum of 7-15 years consulting experience (selling and leading engagements) and a Master’s Degree in Business, Architecture/Design, or Social Sciences with a PhD being a valued differentiator. Applied Workplace and Change Management expertise is strongly desired in addition to experience in both the Education and Corporate industries.
