    MAJOR FUNCTIONS:

    Reporting to the Operations Manager, assures assigned manufacturing area safely produces the highest quality component parts on a timely basis at a competitive cost, while maintaining superior employee/customer relations for Toro in Shakopee, MN. Uses accepted leadership methods to ensure that manufacturing resources are properly managed to meet customer needs in a cost effective manner. Remains flexible and progressive in leading/managing the manufacturing process.

    This position is 3rd shift Sunday Night-Friday Morning 11pm-7am. Occasional weekends expectations that the Supervisor will need to arrive early and stay later than the team for shift change. 

    LIST OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Supervises all employees assigned to him/her and is responsible for training, discipline, pay adjustments, vacation scheduling, and performance measurement of each individual.
    • Model and promote 5S practices and safe working conditions; Zero is Possible.
    • Responsible for meeting department goals for safety, quality, and delivery.
    • Act as change leader. Lead/participate in continuous improvement activities and projects to achieve company objectives.
    • Create, implement, and maintain standard work following TWI methodologies.
    • Interface with various operational disciplines including Materials, Planning, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, IT, and Finance.
    • Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, developing, coaching, disciplining, and terminating employees.
    • Schedule resources assigned to him/her to ensure orders are completed to meet the schedule.
    • Ensures that employee morale is kept at a high level through fair and consistent administration of the labor contract, and empowering employees to jointly manage their work areas.
    • All other tasks and projects as assigned.

    JOB DIMENSIONS:

    • Directly supervise 15 - 35 non-exempt hourly employees.
    • 3rd Shift position
    • Responsible for providing parts to final assembly facilities.
    • Negligible travel required (<5%).

    JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

    REQUIRED:

    • High School Degree or equivalent technical training/experience.
    • A minimum of two years’ experience in various manufacturing disciplines.
    • Ability to work any shift.

    PREFERRED:

    • Bachelors degree (B.A., B.S.) or equivalent.
    • Experience supervising.
    • Strong employee/customer relations skills.
    • Basic understanding of materials, engineering, human resources, quality and accounting and how they relate to each other.
    • Experience in metal fabrication.
    • Experience in a unionized environment.
    • Strong technical skill or education.
    • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office, SAP, JobPack.
    • Strong leadership experience.

  • Qualifications

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Must hold a current RN license in the state of Kentucky.

    EDUCATION: Requires knowledge formally gained in a school for the preparation of a Registered Nurse.

    EXPERIENCE: Previous related experience preferred, but not required.
