  • Responsibilities

    Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines. Provide supervision of non-RN personnel and act as a resource for ancillary staff on assigned unit. Supervise unit activities when assigned to charge or clinical coordinator role. Act as preceptor to new staff and/or students as requested. Adhere to all Stamford Hospital’s policies and procedures, including the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program. Provide safe and therapeutic care using the values inherent in our hospital culture.

    Minimum of 2 years nursing experience required, previous experience on a Cardiology or med-surg unit with high acuity surgical patients preferred. Nurse/patient ratio averages 1:3. Job details include closely monitoring high acuity patients with various diagnoses, caring for patients with a tracheostomy requiring ventilator assistance, managing titratable medication drips per hospital policy, caring for CIWA patients, and caring for patients post-surgery, post stroke, as well as other various cardiac/thoracic procedures.

    SHIFT: Full time nights 7pm-8am, rotating weekend and holiday rotation

    Required Skills

     1) Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

    1. Valid license as Registered Nurse in Connecticut.

    2. BSN strongly preferred.

    3. BLS certification required.

    4. Maintain minimum of 6 contact hours annually.

    5. Minimum of two years recent acute nursing experience; critical care highly preferred
