    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Cargo Load Planners are responsible for load planning, selecting, sequencing, manifesting and monitoring all aircraft transporting cargo.   

    Load Planning will review loose bay and highline inventories from Special Handling, stackers inventories from Ramp Services, and the Theater Express (THX) yard inventory from the THX program manager as needed.  

    Identify and annotate discrepancies with palletized cargo, Rolling Stock, GATES errors, and shoring and documentation problems, and report these discrepancies to the appropriate aerial port sections for action.

    The Load Planner shall ensure that all explosive material movements have received diplomatic and port clearances prior to cargo manifesting.  In addition, ensure hazardous material compatibility on all loads, including passenger restrictions.

    Load planners must complete load plan training requirements identified in AFI 24-114 Air Transportation Operations (Non-Aerial Port) and be identified in writing to the 455 ELRS/CC or designated representative.

     

        

     

    Required Skills

    Load Planners must be Hazardous Material inspector/preparer qualified according to AFMAN 24-204(IP).

    Air Mobility Command Affiliation Course.

    HAZMAT Technician certification (current)

    I.C.O.D.E.S.

    Applicable Air Transportability Test Loading Activity (ATTLA) certification.

    Physical requirements may include lifting up to 35lb, team lifting up to 50lbs, climbing, extended sitting, or standing, stooping, stretching, and bending.

    Must be a U.S. Citizen with a current, valid U. S. Passport and U. S. or Local Driver’s License.

    Must have and maintain a valid U. S. SECRET or Interim Secret Security Clearance prior to deployment.

    Must be able to pass MOD12 employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing, background checks, etc.

    Required Experience

    Two (2) years' extensive experience with Integrated Computerized Deployment System (ICODES), GATES, cargo operations, ramp service aircraft loading and applicable guidance for load planning cargo on military aircraft.

    Military experience in a contingency environment and knowledge and experience working with government contracts preferred.

  • Qualifications
