Experience with Learning Management (LMS) and Learning Content Management Systems (LCMS) such as Meridian, ANGEL, Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, Sakai, WebCT, Vista, etc. Or Content Management Systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Drupal, or Jooml
Role and Responsibilities
Assist in the development and delivery of online course materials and related instructional technologies consistent with established design and development processes
Maintain tracking database/spreadsheet, files and records for course development launch, and updates
Provide design and production assistance to DHS employees in the development of electronic delivery methods
Edit instructional and supporting materials for grammar, clarity, consistency and accuracy of content
Consult with DHS individuals or groups on optimal design of online courses and/or programs and effective uses of multimedia for instruction
Ensure compliance with course design standards of new and revised course materials; provides quality assurance for courses and post production work
Manage development projects from inception to completion
Research, evaluate and troubleshoot instructional technologies and tools in support of online courses and initiatives
Design learning objectives in a variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies to support online coursework and programs
Provide professional and technical support/training to DHS employees
Remain abreast of online, pedagogical and instructional technology trends within scope of expertise to provide ideas, guidance and recommendations
May conduct platform or training classes in a physical or virtual environment
Collaborate and consult with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to collect, review and organize input for the development of training programs
Utilize instructional design protocol (ADDIE, ISD, or similar)
Apply project management, communication and problem solving skills in the design of all training projects to meet aggressive deadlines
Perform other professional responsibilities as assigned
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business, Education or a related field from an accredited college AND three (3) years of experience in e-Learning Solutions, curriculum design, video production, and facilitation of virtual/in-person training courses
Demonstrated experience in facilitating in-classroom and virtual learning, along with soft skills courses are preferred
