  • Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Project Manager, the Senior Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Maintenance Technician, maintains and repairs air conditioning and refrigeration equipment and services commercial kitchen equipment at the Florence Detention Center in Florence, Arizona.

    PRIMARY/MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

      • The Senior Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Technician manages the maintenance processes of the equipment, including corrective, preventative, routine, emergency, and cosmetic maintenance, and evaluates equipment information to ensure conformity to industry standards.
    • Servicing commercial kitchen equipment.
    • Maintenance and repair on Building Automation System BAS, Energy Management System EMS, and Direct Digital Controls DDC Control System.
    • All other Duties Assigned

     

    Required Skills

    REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • A minimum of five (5) years full-time experience in the air conditioning and refrigeration trade as a HVAC/R technician in a commercial or institutional setting
    • Must possess one or more of the following certifications:
      • North American Technician Excellence (NATE) HVAC Service Technician Certification
      • HVAC Excellence Professional Level Certification
      • UA Star HVAC Mastery Certification
    • Must maintain a minimum of 16 hours of continuing education per year from either NATE, HVAC Excellence, or UA Star recognized provider program.
    • Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire)
    • HS Diploma or Equivalent
    • At least two (2) years leadership experience as a Lead Technician or Foreman.
    • Experience in maintenance and repair on BAS, EMS, and Direct Digital Controls (DDC) systems.
    • The position may require lifting up to 75 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing may be needed. Significant hand and finger dexterity required. Environment, while generally hazard free, may include some exposure to dust and varying temperatures.
