INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY BUSINESS ANALYST POSITION

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position will collaborate with business users to plan, design, and launch efficient business and operational systems in support of core organizational functions and business processes. This includes the gathering and analyzing of information and/or data in support of business cases, proposed projects and application requirements. The business analyst is also responsible for supporting existing business applications. This individual must apply proven communication, analytical and problem solving skills to help maximize the benefit of IT system investments.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participates/facilitates design sessions associated with the development and implementation of business requirements
Captures, interprets, and analyzes requirement specifications for new or enhanced system functionality with stakeholders
Documents and creates functional specifications, functional use cases, including documented workflows, data flow diagrams, screen prototypes and user/interface designs
Presents requirements to stakeholders, confirming findings and/or making adjustments to documentation
Provides soundly-based advice to both development team and stakeholders, from a business and/or technical perspective
Works with the applications development function to develop appropriate solutions based on stakeholder approved requirements
Reviews and confirms with stakeholders the suitability of proposed solutions including risk assessment of impact
Facilitates user acceptance criteria discussions with stakeholders
Partners with testing lead to manage requirements issues that arises during testing
Assists in business procedure testing
Provides assistance to the testing lead through user acceptance testing, as required
Support end users training as necessary
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and three years of recent relevant business analysis experience with a progression in responsibility
Demonstrated experience developing functional specifications, impact assessments, process and data flows, and functional use cases
Strong oral and written communication, interpersonal skills
Strong problem solving, analytical skills and technical troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to understand business processes and relate them to technical solutions
Demonstrated experience working within a Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) framework
Knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies required
Excellent technical writing skills
Proficient in MS Office (MS Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio)
Ability to prioritize and juggle multiple and concurrent tasks
