    UX LEAD SPECIALIST JOB DESCRIPTION

     

    PURPOSE OF ROLE      

     

    The UX Lead Specialist executes core project activities. This role is responsible for executing activities that directly support senior UX team members in preparation, execution, and reporting for studies and/or supports design teams with engagements. The Lead Specialist operates as an individual contributor and is proficient in conducting analysis and report creation. This position handles a mix of research and design consulting projects, depending on years of experience and level of expertise. 

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    As the second tier of Specialist, the Lead Specialist skillfully executes core activities to support projects, such as preparation, data collection and analysis, and reporting for research, wire-framing, and supporting research-based recommendations for design.

     

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

     

    • Lead less complex projects under the supervision of a Senior Lead Specialist or higher.
    • Conduct preparation activities, including logistical planning, screener development, recruiting and facilities vendor management, moderator guide development, and data collection piloting activities with less supervision from senior levels.
    • Execute data collection and analysis activities, including moderation and interview activities, analysis, and report creation with less supervision from senior levels.
    • Provide support to the team in various phases of a project as defined by project lead and project team members.

     

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:

     

    • Proven-track record and proficiency as a Lead Specialist and ability to train Specialists.

     

    Lead Specialist skills include:

    • Proficient in team leadership, including training

    • Good understanding of client management as a skill, including professional communications

    • Confidence in ability to solve problems and make decisions

    • Basic to proficient skills in discussion guide development

    • Demonstrated ability moderate a variety of session types and techniques

    • Support logistics and planning wherever it may be

    • Note taking ability to objectives

    • Develops strong communication skills within teams and to clients

    • 1-3 years’ experience in related field (i.e., user experience research or design), required. 3+ years of experience in user experience research or design is highly preferred.

     

    EDUCATION:  

     

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in human factors, HCI, behavioral sciences or equivalent experience, including Bachelor's in Fine Arts (BFA).
