    Position: Manager IT Disaster Recovery
    Location: Eden Prairie, MN or Providence, RI - Position will be remote based from one of the two locations until the client secures a RTW policy. Local candidates.
    Status: Full-time/Permanent
    Reports to: Director Disaster Recovery & Resilience
    Salary: Depends on experience. Base & bonus eligible.

    relevant experience working in an Information Security or Information Technology organization.
    * Experienced IT Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity professional, with a successful track record leading moderately complex technology organizations through actual and practiced disaster scenario

     

    Overview:

    As part of the Information Security, Governance, Risk and Controls organization at the clients you will work to ensure the IT organization is prepared for, able to respond to and recover from a disaster impacting one of the clients data centers or other serious disruptions to operations affecting key IT assets (people, offices and suppliers).

    In this role you will be responsible for the planning and execution of IT Disaster Recovery (DR) exercises. You will accomplish this by implementing and continuously improving a DR exercise program. You will create and maintain the DR exercise process, run books, procedures, post exercise reports and other artifacts as required to ensure successful DR exercising for our client.

     

    This individual will have the opportunity to work across the IT organization to be an advocate for IT disaster recovery and drive program adoption. Focus areas for this role is primarily on exercise management you will have opportunities work on policy and program management, planning and response, as well as managing the coordination and execution of regular plan and program exercises.

    Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

    IT DR Exercise Program

    • Establish and manage an IT DR exercise program that is scalable, produces exercise that are realistic and that fully vet the capabilities of IT Teams and DR solutions
    • Develop and maintain standard processes, runbooks and other exercise artifacts using industry standards and practices
    • Ensure status of the exercise program is monitored, measured and communicated with key stakeholders
    • Schedule and execute disaster recovery exercises, coordinate resources, facilitate exercise events, communicate status, produce post-exercise reporting and ensure issues identified are mitigated.
    • Work with IT DR Services providers in the delivery of DR exercises, post exercise reporting and issue remediation

     

    Governance and Compliance and other duties

    • Work with and across internal and external stakeholders to ensure achievement of policy, regulatory and customer-mandated obligations for IT disaster exercises
    • Participate in and provide oversight of disaster recovery requirements for IT Change Management and IT Project Delivery Processes, understand implications to DR Exercise requirements
    • Contribute to comprehensive data center disaster recovery plan
    • Support IT DR training and awareness campaigns and efforts
    • Assist in coordinating continuity and recovery efforts in the event of a disaster by facilitating communications, assisting with the recovery process and organizing post-event debriefs

    Job Requirements:

    Education/Certification:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; or the equivalent in education and work experience
    • Related certification from recognized industry standards body (i.e. ISO, DRI, BCI)

    Experience:

    • 7+ years relevant experience working in an Information Security or Information Technology organization
    • Experienced IT Disaster Recovery and/or Business Continuity professional, with a successful track record leading moderately complex technology organizations through actual and practiced disaster scenarios
    • Experience with Business Continuity Planning Solutions, Recovery Planner RPX, OnSolve MIR3

    Knowledge:

    • Familiarity with business continuity best practices and standards, including ISO 22301
    • Familiarity with the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP)
    • Familiarity with ITIL Service Continuity and Change Management practices
    • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) with an ability to perform data analysis and produce professional presentations and reports
