Avant Gardner is a 6,000 capacity event complex that houses three distinct areas: the outdoors Brooklyn Mirage during the summer season and the indoors Great Hall and Kings Hall open year-round.
We are hiring for the following maintenance positions: Maintenance Associates and Porters. Please scroll down for complete descriptions.
The Role
MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATE
Responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the venue's business goals and objectives.
THE JOB:
- Keep the venue safe and clean at all times, including by not limited to: clean and disinfect all fixtures, floors, mirrors, doors and walls of restrooms, keep all guest facing area free of trash, restock restroom paper materials and hygiene products as needed.
- Repairs of production equipment
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a high school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.
- An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus.
- Must be highly motivated and able to work independently.
- Position requires constant walking, climbing stairs, lifting and carrying 50 lbs+ and occasional sitting
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 12 hours during events.
- Must be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts.
- Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
- Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 20 pounds.
The Role
PORTER
The Porter will maintain facility standards and assist in general cleaning
THE JOB:
- Sweeping floors
- Cleaning spills
- Dumping garbage
- Upkeep of restrooms during events and general maintenance of public areas
- Handle facility equipment
- Receive deliveries and perform additional duties as assigned. The ideal candidate will have custodial experience at an entertainment venue or large commercial property.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A high level of energy and commitment with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays.
- This position includes heavy lifting and cleaning
- Must possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at a time
- Must possess the ability to work with various operating groups
