Overview
T&M Protection Resources, LLC is seeking a Security Manager on behalf of a newly established multipurpose entertainment venue (“Avant Gardner”) located in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.
Security Manager
Avant Gardner is in the process of designing a multipurpose venue that will host a variety of public and private events in both indoor and outdoor spaces. Anticipated events include concerts, corporate events, weddings, fundraisers, free to community theatre, performance art, art shows, nightlife and more.
Job Summary
The Security Manager will be responsible for the direct supervision and overall oversight of a contract guard force that will expand/contract according to the assessed risk associated with each particular event. The Security Manager will report to and assist the Security Director in the identification, development and implementation of all security strategies, systems, and programs for Avant Gardner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, the following:
Assist with the implementation of a security and safety program to mitigate risk in conjunction with the effective operation of varied events hosted at the venue. The program will include at a minimum:

Employee Security Training
Liaison with Law Enforcement and Other New York City Agencies
Investigations
Conduct patrols on a frequent yet irregular basis, visiting, supervising and interacting with each security officer assigned to the venue.
Monitor the electronic surveillance equipment used on the premises.
Lead periodic safety drills for employees and patrons in the business.
Ensure all established safety guidelines are adhered to.
Ensure all security measures are enforced.
Respond to emergency situations; provide direction to security staff and ensure clear and timely communication to security director and other key management personnel.
Establish and maintain relationships with all security and investigations-related vendors and contractors.
Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with the NYPD, FDNY, local community board and applicable New York City and State licensing agencies.
Qualification Guidelines:
Some college required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Law enforcement experience with five (5) years in a supervisory position.
Management experience, including the ability to direct, train, motivate and evaluate security and venue staff.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage follow-up process.
Ability to demonstrate rudimentary technical skills, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Ability to work under limited supervision and to interact with all levels of staff including senior management.
Ability to work long and irregular hours that may vary due to event schedule to include day, evening, weekends and holidays.
Must be able to demonstrate the capabilities necessary to understand the impact and sensitivity of all security and safety issues.
Physical Demands:
The Security Manager position will have a wide ranging and dynamic set of responsibilities that will sometimes include late hours, loud music and large crowds. While performing regular duties, he/she may be required to stand for long periods and routinely climb up and down stairs. The Security Manager may also be exposed on occasion to inclement weather of varying degrees.
