    Job Description

     

    We are seeking a motivated, energetic Vendor Manager to work as part of a highly collaborative, cross-functional team. This role has two areas of focus. First, they will help evolve our vendor support programs for customers (our Operators) through successive and iterative stages of discovery, definition, development, launch, and post-deployment support of programs and auxiliary physical products (the hardware in Avanti's markets). Additionally, the successful candidate will research next-generation trends and products in unattended retail.

    The successful candidate will closely collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that the detailed program requirements meet the needs of Avanti Markets Operators and internal stakeholders.

    Role Summary

    • Manages and develops supplier relationships as to product availability and new feature development in coordination with Product Managers, Sales, and other Avanti leadership

    • Coordinates/communicates with Customer Success teams on status

    • Acts as a discovery agent for new trends, product or program solutions to be reviewed for consideration by the Product Team and senior leadership in standing review process

    • Builds business case for new ideas

    • Research evaluate and make recommendations for new product ideas with Product Owners or other internal SMEs

    • Drives development of specific product training for Avanti's Operator training portal

    • Works with internal and external SMEs for content to be constructed into Operator Courses

    • Develops annual content calendar and delivery schedule for new products, features or other programs offered to Avanti Operators

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage the existing lifecycle of in-store products. Serve as “voice of the customer” with account management teams, representing/reinforcing the customer perspective throughout assigned programs lifecycle

    • Act as the subject-matter expert for assigned programs

    • Provide feedback and support to the development and other cross-functional teams

    • Reviews, and catalogs feedback and new requirements from program stakeholders as part of the product ideation process

    • Work with SMEs and other team members to ensure the program details are appropriately documented and communicated

    • Assist customer support and account management teams by developing and implementing training and communications that allow partners and internal clients to better understand the products/programs and changes that were made

    • Collaborate with Finance and Sales to manage inventory level of product

    • Coordinate deployment scheduling of various programs in coordination with Product, Marketing and Customer Success groups

    • Other duties as assigned

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree required, master’s degree preferred

    • Three year’s experience as a Vendor Manager in Retail, CPG or eCommerce

    • Minimum of three years of project or program management experience

    • Proficient with Visio, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

    • Detail-oriented and obsessively organized

    • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

    • Ability to work with many individuals and various teams at the same time

    • Team player, with great work ethics and a quick learner

    • Maintain weekly communications with customer stakeholders to provide status and help refine requirements as the program progresses.

    • Diplomatic with strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

    • Comfortable driving teams and management to decisions; willing to push-back for information and answers

    • Self-motivated, not requiring significant managerial direction

    • Adept at adjusting to changing circumstances quickly and professionally

    • Able to make quick decisions when clarification or modification is needed
