    AUGMENTED REALITY (AR)/MIXED REALITY (MR) SOFTWARE ENGINEER II

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Opening for a technical, hands-on Augmented Reality (AR)/Mixed Reality (MR) Software Engineer to create applications, presentations, and demonstrations in AR and MR for multiple environments. This position is part of an innovative, highly dynamic software development and training systems team in a rapidly growing woman-owned small business that has contracts for the US Department of Defense and Commercial markets. In addition to a technical background, the AR/MR Developer should have a creative vision with the ability to transform content into audience-engaging art that enhances the message.

     

    This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    · Develop software applications and processes that give non-programmers the ability to create AR and MR content and solutions

    · Develop training, maintenance, and data-driven applications and demonstrations that simplify the use of complex systems and processes

    · Develop applications for use on multiple platforms and form factors including smart glasses, tablets, smartphones, laptops, and desktops

    · Create clean, reusable, modifiable code, which enforces coding standards and best practices

    · Clearly articulate design ideas and concepts effectively and incorporate the vision of subject matter experts and team members

    · Quickly incorporate fixes based on feedback from fellow team members, users, and clients

    · Collaborate with multimedia developers to create visuals and audio

    · Work with quality control personnel on all products scheduled for delivery to the client

    · Research and report innovative and enhanced technologies related to AR and MR development

     

    REQUIREMENTS

     

    · 1-4 years of experience programming and developing software solutions and AR/MR applications for multiple platforms

    · Skilled in development in:

    • Unity 3D

    • C#

    • Java

    • iOs, Android, Windows

    · Strong Object Oriented Programming expertise

    · Completes all tasks assigned working directly with the lead or product owner

    · Creative problem-solving ability, with a logical approach to resolving all issues

    · Ability to complete tasks within a specified number of hours and time frames

    · Well-rounded understanding of unit testing and source control

    · Ability to work in a fast pace and collaborative environment

    · Excellent communication skills (written, oral, and presentation)

    · Strong commitment to a team environment

    · Willingness and ability to travel

    · Must be eligible for or, maintain a SECRET level security clearance at the time of employment

     

    DESIRABLE

     

    · Involvement with Microsoft Azure setup and implementation

    · Experience designing and developing Virtual Reality (VR) applications

    · Skilled in 3D Modeling, Rendering, and Animation

    · Experience working with teams in an Agile and SCRUM environment

    · Military service or experience a plus
