Avatco is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to manage the day-to-day accounting functions of the Accounting Department and provide leadership, direction and management.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring consistent corporate financial strategy through a range of avenues such as managing and allocating accounts, financial statements, and tax data. The candidate will also be the point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities.

The Controller will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and the position will be based in the corporate office.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Financial and operational analyses
• Cost analyses
• Banking (ACH, Funds transfer, Reporting)
• Cash forecasting
• Oversee accounts receivable collections
• Budgeting & forecasting
• Actual vs. budget vs. prior year/prior month etc. analyses
• Lead year end CPA audit and bank audits
• Negotiate and manage insurances
• Provide data for income tax return filing
• Process improvement
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience showing job stability and career progression.
• We are currently using Great Plains and are in the process of implementing Odoo integrated open-source software.
• Controller will be an integral part of this conversion.
• Must be comfortable and hands-on on various ERP systems
• Ability to query and extract data. Must have advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, macros, V-look up, queries, etc.)
• Must come from manufacturing, retail, distribution or ecommerce industry
• A Bachelor’s degree in accounting from accredited US university is required.
• Attention to detail and work accuracy
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and in team and deliver accurate work product on time
• Bilingual English and Tagalog is a plus since our back office is in the Philippines
• Ability to travel 2 to 4 times a year to our offshore office.
