    Department/Unit: Specialty Clinic

    Schedule : Full Time (80 hours/2 weeks, 1.0 FTE)

    SUMMARY:

    Nursing Service at Avel requires all RNs to practice at a competent level of nursing care and demonstrate a professional level of behavior in his/her role as an RN. The RN is responsible for utilizing the nursing process to provide nursing care through innovative means for rural clinic sites through two-way video technology. He/she assumes responsibility and accountability for his/her individual actions and outcomes of patient care delivered on his/her shift.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Demonstrates professionalism and excellent customer service when conducting assigned patient appointments, to include home phone/video visits and clinic visits.
    • Performs general nursing care as appropriate to virtual care.
    • Prepares the telemedicine equipment and assist provider during virtual clinic visits.
    • Creates Electronic Health Record (EHR) telemedicine encounters and document required items for each patient appointment.
    • Documents notes in EHR when applicable.
    • Assists site with troubleshooting equipment and technological issues.
    • Answers inquiry calls in a timely fashion, offer and schedule appointments. Act as a point of contact for all of Avel eCare services, providing excellent customer service to all callers.
    • Communicates with nurses, sites, providers, and coordinators regarding patient readiness or patient needs.
    • Performs professionally in communication with patient and site staff via camera.
    • Assists with scheduling and completing patient appointments.
    • Performs camera and equipment checks with sites.
    • Maintain an environment conducive to open communications, cooperation, and staff development through the use of active listening and other effective communications skills. Suggests plans to solve clinic problems to make improvements in the delivery of care.
    • Assumes other responsibilities with Avel eCare Virtual Clinic project and community activities as assigned by the Director.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    • Graduate from a CCNE or NLN accredited nursing program is strongly preferred. Graduate from an approved nursing program is acceptable.
    • Two years related experience required.
    • Bachelor's degree preferred

    CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS:

    • Licensed as a Registered Nurse with one unrestricted state license is required.
    • RN licensure required within the states that Specialty Clinic is providing service within 120 days of hire.
