    <p>Are you interested in joining an up-and-coming media company that is a spinoff of a major media giant? We are seeking an expert Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our small development team in our SoHo office. </p><p><strong>Who are we?</strong></p><p>We are a young company with a mission to change and accelerate the well-being of individuals all over the world. Our main site is a content-related media site, and contains an ecommerce component specializing in health and wellness. We aim to change the concept of work/life balance as we know it by eliminating burnout and fostering growth. </p><p><strong>What will you be doing?</strong></p><p>We have a number of awesome projects that are still in the infancy stages, and several projects that are ready to launch. You&rsquo;ll be integral to getting these projects off the ground or maintaining the platforms that are already launched. Your ideas and input really matter. </p><p>One of our platforms is our new Content Management System is built in Rails and is launching soon. You&rsquo;ll be a key member of our core engineering team, and you&rsquo;ll build out new features, and upgrade and maintain the platform. </p><p>We also have a behavioral change application in the works, and you&rsquo;ll be integral in the development of this app. You&rsquo;ll be building features in Ruby and Rails, with scalability in mind. </p><p><strong>What are the must haves for this role?</strong></p><ul><li><p>You&rsquo;re a Ruby on Rails pro. You&rsquo;ve been working in professional settings in a RoR environment for a while now. You&rsquo;re skilled with clean code, and you know where to improve code when necessary. You&rsquo;ve also got an eye for scalability, and you&rsquo;ve developed applications from the ground up. </p></li><li><p>Our current projects are built in Rails, but we&rsquo;re looking to JavaScript in the future as well. You&rsquo;re comfortable on the frontend and have worked with frameworks such as React.js. </p></li><li><p>You&rsquo;re comfortable working in a startup environment and you don&rsquo;t need your hand held. You know how to take initiative without clear direction, and you can help pave that direction for others. </p></li><li><p>You have a strong understanding of databases, specifically PostgresSQL. </p></li><li><p>You&rsquo;re experience with APIs and have worked with RESTful APIs. </p></li></ul><p><strong>What are some plusses?</strong></p><ul><li><p>Experience with AWS is a big advantage. To add to that, if you&rsquo;ve dabbled in the DevOps side of things, we want to learn more. </p></li><li><p>Experience with React.js and Node.js is a huge plus!</p></li></ul><p><strong>What&rsquo;s in it for you?</strong></p><ul><li><p>We want the brightest engineers, so there is no set salary on this role.
