    Adult Day Training Program Instructor Avia Center for Success, LLC - Valrico, FL 33594 $16,380 a year - Part-time Job Description This is a part-time, year-round position in which the instructor will plan and facilitate a class for adult participants with a wide range of mental health disabilities. The program focuses on daily living skills, healthy and wellness, as well as computer and job skills, including weekly community engagement. The day program is open from Monday to Friday, and the hours are 8:30AM to 3PM. Must be able to address and give instruction on a variety of topics. The applicant must attend all required trainings. Must pass a comprehensive background check and controlled substance test. The applicant must be at least 18 years old, and hold at least a high school diploma or equivalent. An Associate's Degree is a plus, but not required. Avia Center for Success also desires at least one year of work experience in this field, or at least one year of work experience with the Agency for Person's with Disabilities (APD). Job Responsibilities * Assist and encourage clients to participate in planned activities. * Assist in developing, implementing, and evaluating programs. * Maintaining bulletin boards, activity calendars, and daily orientation boards. * Serves meals and snacks. Follows (USDA) guidelines for preparation, serving, and documentation. * Assists with ADL's as assigned. * Assure that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc. are in proper working order and are stored appropriately.

    • Perform and document medication reminders as assigned. * Drives Clients to and from Adult Day Program or other activities. * Create, implement, and monitor both short and long-term activities in accordance with curriculum and Implementation Plan objectives appropriate to program practice and philosophy. * Maintain open communication with parents, family members, guardians, and stakeholders as appropriate. * Maintain consumer confidentiality * As a Mandated Abuse Reporter, report any suspect abuse to a supervisor and the Abuse Registry. * Arrange a classroom environment in accordance with program practice and philosophy. * Maintain a safe and healthy environment. * Inspect and maintain classroom environment. * Attend all in-services, staff meetings, and training events to keep mandated training requirements up to date. For example, CPR, First Aid, Zero Tolerance, and more. * Keep all appropriate records such as communication logs, data sheets, incident reports, program data, and timesheets inaccurate order. * Meet all licensing and statute requirements. * Must be able to consistently lift 45 pounds, if necessary.
