    Job Description

    AVID BIOSERVICES INC., located in Tustin CA, is a dedicated contract development and manufacturing organization ("CDMO") focused on development and CGMP manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals products derived from mammalian cell culture. Avid provides a comprehensive range of process development, high quality CGMP clinical and commercial manufacturing services for the biotechnology and biopharmaceutical industries. With over 28 years of experience producing monoclonal antibodies, enzymes, and recombinant proteins in batch, fed-batch, and perfusion modes, Avid's services include CGMP clinical and commercial product manufacturing, purification, release and stability testing as well as regulatory strategy, submission and support. Avid also provides a variety of process development activities, including cell culture and feed optimization, analytical methods development, and product characterization.

    OPPORTUNITY SNAPSHOT:

    As a SR. FINANCIAL ANALYST you'll be responsible for assisting the team to measure financial results, monitor performance and advise on suggested areas of improvement. You will also perform financial analyses and build budgets and forecasts to determine present and future financial performance of different areas of the business.

    Reporting to the Director, FP&A, you'll also have the support and guidance of a collaborative finance and accounting team who work well together and support each other in an open environment.

    ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Collaborate with business partners to develop and maintain operational budgets and forecasts
    • Act as a liaison in providing financial support, recommendations and guidance to cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy of financial data
    • Prepare monthly departmental financial reports to compare actuals versus budgets, communicate with business partners and accounting team to analyze variances and determine any necessary additional accruals, re-classes and other entries required during the monthly close process
    • Partner with functional leaders to identify and develop business requirements that will be translated into KPIs and develop and maintain reporting metrics to analyze business performance in various operational areas
    • Perform financial analyses by project, customer, profit center, etc. to analyze actuals vs. budget, gross margins, contribution margins, resource utilization rates and other areas of financial performance
    • Maintain revenue forecast models and partner with Business Development and Project Management teams to ensure accuracy of underlying financial data from different systems
    • Assist with preparation of monthly financial reporting package for Executive Management with written commentary on variances, performance drivers, KPIs, etc. to identify risks and opportunities in achieving operational goals
    • Assist with development and maintenance of long-range planning models and financial statement forecasts
    • Assist with implementation of new reporting systems to enhance the quality and availability of financial and operational information to improve business performance
    • Assist with quarterly and annual internal and external audit requests as needed
    • Lead or assist with special projects and ad-hoc analyses as needed.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or Economics
    • 5+ years of financial analysis experience, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling and public company experience
    • Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, business and financial acumen are a must
    • Strong communication, oral and written, presentation and organizational skills
    • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of staff and management and to be a true contributor in a team-oriented environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to compile, present and explain analyses clearly and concisely
    • Ability to work effectively as a self-motivated team player in a dynamic environment and have a passion for continuous learning and improvement
    • Ability to quickly learn and utilize new systems and financial tools
    • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with other MS Office Programs (Word, Power Point, etc.)
    • Experience with BI360, Dynamics AX and Salesforce preferred, but not required.
