    GROUP DESCRIPTION

    Framatome Fuel Engineering directly supports the reactor core design needs for US region Light Water Reactor commercial operation. Framatome Fuel Engineering provides the leading support and coordination for reactor core fuel management development, design, licensing, safety analysis and methods development required to support any commercial PWR reactor design. Thermal Mechanics Lynchburg performs a full range of fuel materials and fuel rod performance studies while supporting the neutronic, thermal-hydraulic, mechanical and safety analysis of the fuel and core design. Thermal Mechanics Lynchburg represents the US region within Framatome's international fuel design team.

     

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This is a temporary opportunity (less than one year)

    Performance of engineering calculations using standard engineering computer codes

    Preparation of documentation supporting engineering studies                                                                             

    Creation or modification of automation codes supporting engineering calculations                                                      

    Revision to Materials specification                                                                                                                         

    Evaluation of fuel operation performance

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    ALL CANDIDATES MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.

     

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering completed by start date plus 0-2 years of relevant work experience.

    • Strong technical problem-solving abilities
    • Strong interpersonal skills

    • Previous internship/co-op experience in field of study
