  • Responsibilities

    Role:

    The AV Support Technician will provide service and support (remotely and on-site) to our customer with the express purpose of wowing them through service excellence. We achieve excellence through responsive and professional communications, excellent troubleshooting resulting in quick problem resolution, strong attention to detail, and consistent follow through. Additionally, the AV Support Technician will perform small to medium installations with a focus on quick turnaround times. Work hours are 8am -5pm, Monday through Friday with occasional nights and/or weekend work. Some out-of-town travel required.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Adhere to company policies and procedures
    • Maintain professional attitude with emphasis on teamwork and customer service
    • Daily completion of time and expense reports
    • Manage and maintenance company tools, equipment, vehicles, and property
    • Read and interpret schematics and architectural blueprints
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose complex AV problems, including networking issues
    • Load code and firmware on devices
    • Configure and test DSP’s
    • Conduct AV commissioning and training
    • Perform preventative maintenance
    • Effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and employees of company
    • Follow OSHA safety regulations as well as company and customer safety policies
    • Perform installs on small to medium projects
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications:

    Two or four year degree in electronics and/or 3+ years’ experience installing and supporting AV systems. OSHA 10 for construction. Clean driving record and background report that meet Avinext standards. Preferred certifications: Avixa CTS, Crestron technical certification, Extron AV Associate, QSC and Biamp.

    Additional Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
    • Ability to organize and manage small to medium projects
    • Ability to solder, terminate, and crimp connectors
    • Ability to demonstrate planning, organizing, and implementing skills which allow the successful completion of a project by a specific due date
    • Knowledge of signal flow for audio, video, and control communications
    • Working knowledge of networking for audio/video distribution
    • Knowledge and use of test equipment for troubleshooting
    • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
    • Must be responsible, self-motivated, self-starter, personable and well-organized
    • Strong customer service skills to deal with internal and external customers
    • Proficiency in using Windows PC’s and desktop applications including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
    • Must be able to effectively handle stressful situations
    • Must be able to read and effectively interpret business and technical documentation

    Physical, Mental and Environmental Requirements:

    • Employee is required to stand, walk, climb, sit and use hands and fingers.
    • Frequent lifting of heavy objects is required.
    • Reaching, grasping and carrying activities also required.
    • Must be able to read color diagrams, wires, and drawings.
    • Must be willing and able to climb ladders and work from lifts and scaffolding.
    • Must be able to work in dusty and unconditioned environments.
    • The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
    • Frequent use of test equipment and power tools.
