VITA Medical is a regenerative medicine company focused on the development and commercialization of innovative therapies with the power to transform lives. We are currently seeking a Research Intern to work with the Scientific Affairs Team on pre-clinical research related to harnessing the regenerative properties of a patient's own skin. The Research Intern will contribute to the company's scientific development program with responsibility for the execution of pre-clinical studies focused on understanding mechanisms behind epidermal regeneration and supporting new product development efforts. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience working closely with a team of scientists to drive the completion of experiments in the field of regenerative medicine. Duties/Responsibilities - Work directly with scientific affairs team executing pre-clinical studies in alignment with corporate driven objectives - Assist laboratory team members on a variety of tasks including laboratory maintenance, preparation of assay reagents, in vitro assays, cellular and protein characterization, microscopy, histology, and data analysis - Mammalian tissue culture maintenance of primary and immortalized cell lines - Document experimental work (protocols and reports) for presentation to cross-functional team - Participate in problem solving to overcome technical problems and provide innovative solutions - Perform other special projects and laboratory functions as assigned by the supervisor Special Knowledge/Skill - Highly motivated and self-driven work ethic - Basic laboratory skills and safety knowledge - Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment - Excellent written and oral communication skills - Effective time management skills to handle multiple assignments while maintain attention to details - Good knowledge of cellular and molecular biology and analytical techniques Education/Training - Bachelor or associate degree in life sciences - Previous laboratory experience preferred Position Location The location of this position will be at the University Lab Partners (ULP) facility near the UCI campus. The primary AVITA Medical Office is located in Valencia, CA. Compensation: - This is a paid internship position - Position requires a minimum of 10 hours commitment per week with flexibility up to 30 hours per week as required.
