Operations Associate
Awning is a lean team of eight, well-funded and building the next generation tech-enabled real estate brokerage. We have a seasoned founding team that understands the importance of our employees to our company's success. Headquartered out of San Francisco, California, BUT OPERATES AS A FULLY DISTRIBUTED ORGANIZATION. Our goal is to make RENTAL PROPERTY OWNERSHIP AS EASY AS INVESTING IN STOCKS.
We are seeking an Operations Associate with 2-3 years of relevant experience who will work closely with our go-to-market team. We are looking for an ownership-oriented individual that is comfortable wearing many hats and conquering an array of projects.
The Role
- Having strong organizational and cross-collaborative communications skills will be paramount in the candidate's ability to juggle multiple different projects across an array of functions and stakeholders.
- This person should be prepared to wear multiple hats and be a crucial part of the overall building of the business, including research, sales, client support, process documentation, recruiting, and administrative tasks.
- Curiosity and the ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances with limited oversight, self-activating, and an ownership mentality will be key to this role's success.
- Comfortable publicly explaining Awning's value and business model to vendors, partners, and customers.
What You'll Do
- RESEARCH & PLANNING: This role will conduct routine and ongoing research to help define our business/product direction
- MARKETS: Identifying real estate investment markets and creating short write-ups on each market, submarket, neighborhood.
- VENDORS: evaluate and recommend service and technology vendors on an as-needed basis as we expand our team and increase our need for internal tooling.
- PARTNERSHIPS: Speaking and coordinating with government organizations (e.g. Department of Real Estate) and vetting companies for potential partnership
- SALES AND CLIENT SUPPORT: This includes vetting leads and scheduling meetings for the Awning Advisor and assisting Advisors with client requests (providing ad-hoc research and analysis)
- PROCESS DOCUMENTATION: creating and documenting standard process flows in order to create clarity across business functions
- RECRUITING: Assisting with top of the funnel employee recruiting efforts.
- ADMINISTRATIVE TASKS: data input, sales tracking, document management, scheduling, etc.
- EDUCATION & DEVELOPMENT: Educate oneself in the residential investment real estate industry and be willing to study for and pass licensing exams (if required).
Your Qualities
- Bachelor Degree from a top-tier university
- 2-3 years of relevant experience (recent grads may include internships)
- Masterly of excel and google slides/sheets
- Experience or education in real estate or finance industry
- Entrepreneurial experience with either starting your own business or working for a start-up
- Curious and the ability to adjust to rapidly changing or ambiguous environments
- Analytical and data-driven mindset
- TAKES INITIATIVE AND CAN OPERATE WITHOUT DIRECT OVERSIGHT
- High emotional intelligence, uses critical thinking and is goal-oriented
- Excellent communication and experience working in a cross-functional role
- Plans thoroughly and executes efficiently
