Candidate will be responsible for optimization of the assembly and test of Axcelis’ Ion Implantation products. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required as it will be necessary to interface with many departments including manufacturing, test, design and procurement in order to solve complex manufacturing issues. Candidate should have a good working knowledge of Electrical and Mechanical assemblies, and feel comfortable writing work instructions for their assembly. The ideal candidate will be self motivated and able to work under minimal supervision from senior manufacturing engineers.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Observe and document assembly.
• Interact effectively with operations and design personnel.
• Transcribe instructions by verbal and digital photographic and basic drawing methods.
• Design fixtures and processes to support manufacture and /or test of semi-conductor equipment.
• Improve assembly process through innovative build sequencing,
• Poka-yoke and time study conduction and evaluation.
• Originate ECO corrections of documentation to ensure fulfillment of Form, Fit, and Function design intent. Work under the direction of the ME to help simplify the manufacturing process.

JOB REQUIREMENT:

Minimum required education level for this position is an associate (Technical) degree in science (Mechanical eng/electrical eng/ industrial or Manufacturing engineering)

Basic computer literacy required (MS Office/Windows). Pro/E, MS Access and Minitab familiarity strongly preferred. Sound written and verbal communication skills. General Mechanical assembly knowledge (use of tools and techniques). Must be organized, self motivated and confident problem solver.
