Job Description
Axiom Forensic is a forensic engineering firm specializing in traffic accident reconstruction. We utilize the latest techniques and tools to perform high-end analyses, and aim to be the best at what we do, providing consulting services to attorneys, insurance companies, government agencies, and private companies.
The candidate will be an integral part of a team dedicated to answering questions such as: how fast were the vehicles going at impact, where was each vehicle when X and Y occurred, what were the pre and post-impact motions, and could the collision have been avoided. The majority of the collisions we analyze involve motorcycles, as such a motorcycling background is a plus, but not needed.
THE ENGINEER WILL BE WORKING WITH:
A strong background in 3-D CAD and Excel is important, but we expect that many of the skills above will have to be learned on the job due to the esoteric nature of the business. We will send the right candidate to training to fill in any voids in expertise.
The optimal candidate will have a master's or Ph.D. in mechanical or electrical engineering, but candidates with a Bachelor's will be considered.
This role will also involve a substantial amount of research, in pursuit of developing new techniques in the field. As such, a background in publication and research is a benefit and solid writing skills are a must. Prior experience with automotive / motorcycle mechanics is a plus.
