What are the limits of innovation and exploration? How do we continue to evolve as a species?

    SUMMARY: Our team is searching for an experienced, reliable, and task-oriented Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO). This position requires the ability to apply independent judgment and discretion, as well as the identification, analysis, and resolution of security-related matters. This individual will report to the Facility Security Officer in a challenging, fast-paced, collaborative and rewarding environment. They will maintain the security program for Axiom Space and Personnel Security Clearances (PCL) associated primarily with collateral and above programs. The successful candidate will achieve a balance between the overall objective and specific details, take pride in their work, and strive for excellence.

    DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    The successful candidate will assist the FSO with the overall security program, support all security functions in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM-32 CFR, Part 117), Director of Central Intelligence Directives (DCID) and Axiom Space security policy and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Understand all U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) security requirements, process all personnel security clearance documentation via the Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP) system, maintain records, manage the security training program as well as prepare and administer required annual refresher training. Conduct all facility related change conditions, self-inspections, and preparing for all Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) security reviews. Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

    • Conduct Employee briefings and debriefings

    • Submit visit requests as required using Defense Information System for Security (DISS)

    • Update and maintain all security related databases including DISS, and National Industrial Security System (NISS)

    • Update and maintain data and documents in DISS/ NISS

    • Investigate incidents and security violations, conduct administrative inquiries, and submit reports as required

    • Manage safeguarding requirements to include providing document control numbers and maintaining access rosters to security containers

    • Along with the FSO, act as liaison with DCSA, as required

    • Ensure Axiom Space remains compliant with Facility Clearance (FCL) Government regulations

    • Understand our corporate structure and bylaws as they pertain to the National Industrial Security Program (NISP)

    • Assist the FSO with the annual review and update of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Annual Training, and Foreign Travel Briefings

    • Other duties as may be assigned by the FSO or another member of Management

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Security Management or related field preferred, or a combination of education, skills, and experience
    • Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA)-qualified FSO or 2 years’ experience in security programs as AFSO or in a related position
    • Preferred Certifications include any of the following: CSSO, CPP, PSP
    • Preferred TS level clearance (or able to obtain)
    • US Citizen
    • Strong knowledge of DISS and e-QIP government programs, SF86, DD 254 and DD 441, and SF 328
    • In-depth knowledge of NISPOM requirements, have strong computer skills and cyber knowledge
    • Must be able to interpret and implement security policy, provide guidance, oversight, and assistance to company personnel
    • Must be able to demonstrate by knowledge and experience the ability to manage and oversee a comprehensive Security Compliance Program
    • The AFSO may perform other duties within the assigned department, provided he or she is able to perform the duties and responsibilities of the AFSO.
    • The AFSO may supervise department activities in the absence of FSO to achieve maximum security requirements and continuity of team productivity

    Work Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.

    REQUIREMENTS 

    • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.

    • Management has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.

    • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is a requirement for this position.

     PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of the time).
