    Axis Engineering is dedicated to designing and developing assembly solutions, metal forming and inspection fixtures.

    To help us drive excellence, as a Tool & Die Maker in the Technical Trades Program you’ll get to:

    · Support the Company’s mission, vision, values and goals in the performance of daily activities.

    · Operate and become proficient on all tool room equipment including; lathe, drill press, conventional milling machine (Bridgeport), and surface grinder.

    · Bench (stone) die details to high polish.

    · Operate and develop an intermediate skill level in mig welding.

    · Operate and develop a basic understanding of cnc milling, wire edm.

    · Will be exposed to engineering disciplines including design.

    · Read detail prints and layout work piece to specifications.

    · Design and construct templates and fixtures for repetitive projects.

    · Verify conformance of work piece to specifications and high quality product.

    · Measure, mark and scribe metal stock for machining.

    · Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools.

    · Determine specifications for inspection of work, using full range of precision measuring and gauging tools to perform inspection before, during and after machining.

    · Work under the direction and alongside Tool room leader and other tool makers.

    · Punctual and regular attendance is required.

    · Able and willing to work any shift assigned.

    This full-time role is a part of our Tooling Department and reports to the Operations Manager


    Required Skills & Abilities:


    · Ability to machine accurately including close tolerance machining where applicable

    · Must be able and willing to learn

    · Ability to work in a fast paced, “just in time” environment

    · Able to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with engineering, leaders.

    · Good multitasking skills

    · High level of cooperation and commitment

    · Adaptive to a fast paced environment.

    · Valid Driver’s license approved by the Motor Vehicle Policy

    · Successfully complete Hilo and Crane training program within 30 days

    · Must have own tools

    · Must be able to attend 4 year apprenticeship program through an Autokiniton approved college

    · Must pass aptitude test

    · Drug screen is required to enter the training program

    Education and/or Experience:

    · High school Diploma or general education degree (GED) or currently working on GED required; one to three months related experience and/or training.
