    Position Summary: The role of the Vocational Specialist is to **** assist patients at Axis Health System to establish meaningful work activities. The Vocational Specialist works with both individuals and employers to identify employment matches. The Vocational Specialist collaborates with members of the treatment team to assist patients in meeting their treatment goals and obtain and maintain competitive employment.

    Our ideal candidate for our Vocational Specialist position will have a bachelor’s degree and previous experience in a behavioral health or educational setting. Two years’ experience with education/career advising or career counseling and/or Individualized Placement and Support Certification are preferred.


    Salary:

    Durango Location: Starting pay is $20.50 - $21.58, per hour and considers preferred experience and preferred education described above. *Add'l $2.50 per hour for Durango locations.

    Montrose Location: Starting pay is $19.00 (base rate18.00 + Locale $1.00) - $20.08, per hour and considers preferred experience and preferred education described above. *Add'l $1.00 per hour for Montrose locations.

    Cortez Location: Starting pay is $18.00 - $19.08, per hour and considers preferred experience and preferred education described above.

    Physical demands : **** Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 15 pounds. Employee is frequently required to walk, sit, stand, or kneel and occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop. Must have ability to sit for longer periods at a computer. Employee must be able to travel between Axis Health System locations. Possible potential exposure to communicable disease. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.     Required Skills:

    • Knowledge and ability to operate standard office equipment including scanner, computer, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
    • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook and ability to access the internet.
    • Ability to be helpful and sensitive to the needs of all employees, while concurrently respecting corporate policies, procedures and priorities.
    • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.

    • Must have current driver’s license, qualify for commercial vehicle insurance and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with AHS’ insurance agency.
    • Local travel required.
    • Ability to take on additional duties when necessary.

    Additional eligibility requirements: **** Annual Flu immunization, Annual TB screening, CPI training within 90 days of hire, BLS PRO certification required within 90 days of hire.
