Summary:

Tier-One Property Services, one of the nation’s largest minority owned building services contractor and facilities maintenance company, located in SW Houston, is currently seeking a Corporate Controller. This position will partner with other accounting staff and operational leadership to produce accurate, actionable and timely financial information. To be successful in this role you must have a sense of urgency, attention to detail and be willing to work in a dynamic, fast paced and changing structure.

Responsibilities include the following:

Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting package and present results to the ownership group.

Lead and manage an accounting group of 3-5 staff persons

Supervise the month-end close and preparation of monthly accruals and journal entries.

Review and approval of company credit card statements

Prepare all necessary schedules and gather pertinent information requested by tax preparers.

Primary point of contact for insurance. Gather all information and lead the process of securing general liability and workers compensation coverage for the company.

Provide cash flow analysis and manage cash balances within the company's banking accounts.

Prepare reports and financial ratio analysis to be utilized by the executive team to run the business.

Provide status of company financial condition by preparing, interpreting and presenting financial data.

Provide leadership to accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll.

Desired Education and Experience

Four-year degree in finance or accounting from accredited university

Certified Public Accounting designation preferred

5-10 years of experience in a Controller position with a similarly sized organization.

Strong experience in financial statement preparation and communication and presentation of financial metrics

Demonstrated leadership and team building skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must

Extensive Excel experience required. Experience with the use of pivot tables, v-lookup, and other data filtering/sorting and analysis tools are a plus
