    ADJUNCT INSTRUCTOR FOR MACHINING

    PURPOSE/SUMMARY OF JOB:

     

    The Adjunct Instructor for Machining instructs one (1) or more courses for a diverse group of individuals interested in the field of machining.  Topics of instruction cover multiple important aspects of machining including, manual machining, CNC machining, precision inspection, metallurgy, print reading, and part planning.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Adjunct Instructors are assigned to individual classes of specific topics, class times and dates.  This position demonstrates strong instructional skills and engages a diverse student body. The Adjunct Instructor for Machining assists, advises, and mentors students with understanding the learning objectives listed for the class, and for accomplishing their course and program goals. The Adjunct Instructor for Machining is responsible for supervising students on machining equipment and demonstrating machining techniques. The instructor is required to track and report grades for each student.

     

     

    MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor’s degree and at least 2000 hours of verified occupational experience in a related field; or; 4000 hours of verified occupational experience in a related field.
    • Five (5) years of personal experience in a related field.  Valid related fields include but are not limited to: CNC machining, conventional machining, CAM programming, quality control in a machining environment, and business management in a machining environment.
    • All experience must be within the last 20 years.

     

    LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    EXPERIENCE:

    • CNC machine setup, operation, and programming
    • CAM software usage
    • Training experience in a machine shop environment
