    THE MORTGAGE SERVICING MANAGER PROVIDES EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP TO THE MYCUMORTGAGE SERVICING BUSINESS UNIT, WHICH INCLUDES TAX AND INSURANCE ACTIVITIES, MORTGAGE AND FLOOD INSURANCE, AND LOSS DRAFT PROCESSES AS WELL AS OVERSIGHT AND COORDINATION OF YEAR-END PROCESSING. THE MANAGER PROVIDES MEMBERS WITH CONSISTENT, FIVE-STAR SERVICE AND CREATES HASSLE FREE EXPERIENCES WITH THEIR MORTGAGES.

    1. Interacts, audits and manages external tax and insurance service vendors on a consistent basis. Establishes and monitors control reports and quality checks of all vendors to ensure all real estate tax payments/updates are paid timely, adequate insurance coverage is maintained on all loans, lender-placed insurance regulations are adhered to, and premium payments/updates are made in a timely manner. Works with external flood vendor to ensure accurate flood tracking and updates are completed on all loans. Ensure assigned business units are operating efficiently and reliably, are in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and rules, have appropriate operating controls to mitigate risk, and are performing at a high level. (40%)
    2. Establishes, documents, implements and monitors processes to ensure information related to taxes, insurance, mortgage insurance and flood is accurate and complete in the loan servicing system. Creates/Monitors controls to ensure data integrity. Works closely with other lines of business, as needed, to assure processes address their needs. (15%)
    3. Provides exceptional leadership to year-end project team by coordinating the efforts of the lines of business, assuring monthly activities are accurately completed in a timely manner, quality controls are developed and monitored, timely communication is made to borrowers and partner credit unions, and periodic updates to the Leadership team. (15%)
    4. Ensures mortgage insurance is paid in a timely manner and subsequently cancelled accurately in the same manner (based on investor and Homeowner’s Protection Act guidelines). Verifies interest on escrow accounts is consistently updated and deposited according to state and investor guidelines. Monitors and manages loss draft claim processes to ensure timely completion and release of funds according to federal and investor guidelines. (10%)
    5. Monitors completed individual and mass escrow analyses to verify they are within compliance regulations. Manages ongoing escrow analysis exception reporting to ensure timely completion. Monitors and ensures all processes are completed within established escrow servicing practices and performs random quality checks of all established escrow-servicing practices. Creates and/or updates servicing practices as needed. (10%)
    6. Continually processes, accurately and efficiently, a variety of transactions and inquiries for members according to applicable policies and procedures. Performs additional duties such as resolving escrow disputes, email inquiries, ongoing meetings one-on-ones with expert staff, creating and conducting staff training (including other lines of business outside of Escrow), responding to audit comments from internal audit and compliance reviews as well as external regulatory and agency exams, etc. (10%)

    Required Skills

    1. Must have an associate’s degree (bachelor’s degree preferred) in business, finance, computer related work or equivalent work experience preferred.
    2. Prior experience managing core mortgage servicing or an escrow department and experience working with loan servicing systems, 5+ years, is required.
    3. Advanced knowledge of loan documentation.
    4. In-depth knowledge of regulatory (RESPA, CFPB and state) and investor (FHA, VA, FHLMC and FNMA) guidelines as they relate to mortgage servicing and escrow.
    5. Versatility, flexibility and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
    6. Excellent management skills and the ability to motivate staff of experts to work as a team.
    7. Attention to detail is a must.
    8. Must be able to learn and apply a variety of software applications, demonstrating the ability to learn core loan servicing systems and applicable servicing/third-party vendor systems.
    9. Ability to clearly communicate with myCUmortgage experts, members, external partners and third-party vendors. Able to write clear, logical, succinct communications with both members and myCUmortgage experts. Use accurate sentence structure, syntax and grammar when creating correspondence.
    10. Ability to analyze, reason, problem solve and prioritize work independently and design recommendations to accomplish business and strategic goals.
