    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Major responsibility is to manage registration and renewal of teen membership through KidTrax database.  Membership and Technology Assistant serves as an important public relations function by greeting all visitors and providing information about the Teen Center and its programs. The position will also include the oversight and delivery of BGCB technology programming by managing the Center’s Technology Lab.

     

     

    Required Skills

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Register and renew membership applications through KidTrax. Submit attendance on a monthly basis.
    • Ensure that all members entering the building are signing in and that attendance information is properly stored in the membership database.
    • Assist in the delivery of OneCall messages to Teens and parents to promote Club activities and events.
    • Attend BGCB Membership Directors meeting as required.
    • Provide accurate and up-to-date program, activity and event information for all persons inquiring at the front desk, on the Parent Bulletin Board, and over the telephone.
    • Assessing our impact is critical to our work. All staff is expected to participate in various evaluation efforts throughout each program year, including the annual member survey.
    • Assist in overseeing the safety and traffic of the front desk area. Utilize remote door access to ensure the safety of visitors entering the building.
    • Oversee program design, delivery and evaluation consistent with the guidelines of the Computer Clubhouse and the objectives of the BGCB Technology Program.
    • Ensure members have the opportunity to design projects and express themselves creatively utilizing technology in a learner-centered environment.
    • Expose members to technology beyond their clubhouse via trips to other BGCB clubs, The Clubhouse Network, MIT Media Lab, Museum of Science and other locations deemed appropriate.
    • Create and participate in collaborative programming with clubhouse staff and those from other BGCB clubhouses.
    • Secure, maintain and maintain materials, equipment and other resources belonging to the program area(s). Maintain a safe and clean program area. 
    • Participate in individual and group supervision sessions; participate in professional development opportunities as appropriate.
    • Travel between sites and to activities as needed.
    • Other related duties as specified by the Club Directors.

    Required Experience

    POSITION REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES, WORK DEMAND)           

    • High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
    • Direct experience in customer service and/or reception, with computers, and data management required.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
    • MS Office and web competency preferred.
    • Must be or become CPR / FA certified.
    • Ability to work with youth and families from a variety of backgrounds.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Flexibility to work clubhouse hours especially as seasons and service needs change.
