    Job Description

    MEMBER SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Director, Membership Services and Member Services Supervisors, this position is accountable for providing superior high touch service to YMCA members, program participants and the general public. The Member Services Representative will be responsible for engaging with current and prospective members, providing quality tours and selling memberships effectively.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting all members, program participants and general public in a friendly, professional manner. Exceed the expectations of our members and guests everyday.

    2. Initiate, develop, grow and maintain relationships with new and current members.

    3. Receive and properly route telephone calls for staff and if necessary take detailed messages.

    4. Conduct informative tours of the facility. Demonstrate knowledge of the facility and programs.

    5. Register members and non-members for membership and programs, enter information correctly into the database and handle money transactions.

    6. Be familiar with opening, closing and emergency procedures and execute as necessary.

    7. Use appropriate problem solving when dealing with suggestions or concerns.

    8. Responsible for receiving communication via YMCA email to ensure properly prepared for great service to those they are serving.

    9. Properly complete all paperwork, registration forms, incident reports, memberships, etc.

    10. Other duties as assigned.

    11. Must be able to work night and weekends

    12. $100.00 Sign on Bonus payable 90 days after hire

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. High school graduate or equivalent required
    2. Comfortable handling conflict and enjoy talking with members.
    3. Minimum age requirement, 18 years or older.
    4. Obtain CPR, AED and First Aid trainings within first 90 days of employment.
    5. Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills.
    6. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
    7. Strong technology skills.
    8. Sufficient strength, agility and mobility to perform the essential function of the position.
    9. Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
