Madera is a mainly student housing property that houses up to 504 residents. We are a quiet and friendly community that strives to serve the resident as best as possible. Our shuttle drivers are a big part of the property driving our shuttle to and from the UTSA campus for the students classes and events.

SUMMARY

Role occupants are responsible for demonstrating strict adherence to schedules and transport-related safety codes.  Ultimately, an extraordinary Shuttle Bus Driver will be able to diagnose and remedy basic mechanical issues that may arise.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Arriving at collection points prior to departure times.
• Ensuring adherence to passenger limits of no more than 14 passengers each trip.
• Ensuring adherence to the no passengers allowed to stand.
• Avoiding high-traffic and accident-prone routes, where possible.
• Separating physical fights and calming verbal altercations, as needed.
• Recording and reporting all major accidents and incidents to the manager.
• Ensuring that the shuttle bus is fueled, well maintained and presentable at all times.
• Observing all relevant traffic and safety laws.

REQUIREMENTS

• Outstanding knowledge of applicable transport and safety codes.
• First Aid training is preferred but not required.
• Previous experience driving groups of people preferred but not required.
• Great improvisational skills.
• Amicable and optimistic disposition.
• Working knowledge of pertinent vehicle maintenance a plus.
• Ability to work flexible hours.
