POSITION: PART-TIME
COMPENSATION: $20/HR
WORKING HOURS: M-F (with the exception of the occasional weekend and or after hours on-site or off-site event)
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
CREATIVITY/EXECUTION/SKILL
Necessary Experience: The ability to execute existing recipes including gluten free and vegan, in addition to introducing and developing new recipes. In tandem, the capability to provide creative ideas and concepts for menu development.
Implementation of chocolate and sugar work when building/decorating experience preferred.
The ability to provide breakfast pastry assortments for corporate account(s) that are shelf stable without refrigeration (ideally stable for 48 hours).
Demonstration of skill in baking, sauces, compotes, mousses, frostings, fondant, cookies, breads, cakes, pies, muffins, pastries, danishes, doughs, etc.
Efficient at managing time and having the ability to meet multiple catering deadlines daily. Must be able to plan week accordingly to balance prep for all locations.
FOOD SAFETY/PREP
Practicing FIFO when replenishing backstock of product or ingredients. This includes properly storing ingredients in accordance with food safety regulations.
Wearing gloves when necessary and always having clean hands.
Appropriate kitchen attire and non-slip shoes; black chef coat, Emjaye Inspired company T-shirt, or all black attire.
Maintenance of pastry station area, equipment, tools, and overall organization.
Proper food handling and temperature of all products in accordance with compliance regulations.
Overall safety and sanitation both for the working space(s) and on your person.
CATERING SERVICES
The ability to properly operate and assemble hot equipment; i.e. sternos, chafing dishes, serving dishes, etc.
The ability to read and comprehend catering orders in order to plan with the direct supervisor for pastry and dessert components.
Maintenance of food quality and execution that meets Emjaye Inspired standard(s).
Set up and arrangement of events; i.e. the ability to be mindful and implement artistic skill when preparing pastry and dessert components in relation to event location, arrangement sizing and display, allergens, themes and color schemes, etc.
Ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining relationship(s) with said or new clients while reflecting Emjaye Inspired mission statement.
COMMUNICATION
The ability to work well in a team environment with a self-starter, positive cooperative attitude, respectful disposition, prompt and effective communication
Maintenance of inventory and communication with direct supervisor for any needs.
Comfortability and availability for potential communications outside of working hours as well as being included in a group chat with the E.I. team for event prep, concerns and questions, general updates, etc.
The ability to collaborate with the existing kitchen team when devising tasks and prep schedules.
Attendance for all staff meetings; i.e. bringing suggestions and room for improvement.
MULTI TASKING/MISC.
Keen attention to detail and the ability to work in an expeditious manner without compromising quality.
The ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Maintaining a flexible schedule dependent on kitchen and event needs.
Physical strength and competence; i.e. the ability to stand for long periods of time and the ability to lift 50 pounds.
Assistance with restocking, assisting guests in the Cafe and Grill, and maintaining an orderly site.
The ability to perform assigned kitchen and catering support tasks given by direct supervisor.
Comfortability with the potential for driving Emjaye Inspired company vehicles & set-up of off-site events or drop-offs.
Other duties as assigned.
