    The Bartolotta Restaurants team is comprised of more than 500 team members and internal partners, across 17 locations, who count on us to help connect them to a larger purpose, to find ways to serve our guests with an ultimate fine dining experience while upholding exceptional hospitality standards.

    The Staff Accountant will work with the Company’s Controller and Chief Financial Officer to make sure we properly report and understand all of the elements of our financial picture and comply with all policies and regulations. They also have a hand in working with lenders, vendors and landlords to make sure their needs are met. 

    MAKING A FINANCIAL STATEMENT

    Keeping accurate records, closing the books on time every month and quarter, and working with our Restaurant managers to understand and use the financial statements appropriately are big responsibilities and you will be a key partner in making all of that happen.

    Our Staff Accountant is more than a bean counter. You will be a leader in our organization, collaborating with our Restaurant managers and chefs and helping them understand how to use “the numbers” to be more knowledgeable, productive, and profitable. And helping us strengthen the bottom line.

    MEASURING SUCCESS

    Obviously, the ultimate measure of our success is guest satisfaction and financial performance. Additionally, our Staff Accountant will be measured in large part by how well our restaurant leaders know their numbers and how to use them to be more effective.  That’s very important to us and your role in that is, too.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • On a regular basis, enter event orders and catering sales, deposits for checks and credit card transactions that are received and properly code to the General Ledger, while checking for reasonableness, consistency and errors.
    • Enter restaurant sales deposits for checks and credit card transactions that are received and properly code to the General Ledger.
    • Ensure sales are uploaded and recorded properly from Aloha Point of Sale system to Compeat Accounting Package.
    • Reconcile receivables and other balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis and issue a status report to the Controller or Assistant Controller monthly.
    • Review and verify the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications
    • Book inventory transfers and intercompany transactions and assist A/P as needed.
    • Maintains records, prepares Sales & Use Tax and Property Tax forms, verifies information, and resolves routine problems.
    • Assist with month-end close.
    • Maintain internal contact with various restaurants, including other accounting sections, to verify the accuracy of numbers and discuss any discrepancies..
    • May assist internal clients to resolve routine problems or perform general administrative tasks.

    ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree Accounting or Finance or related field required
    • 1-3 Years of experience in hospitality, real estate or service industry preferred
    • Strong customer service and hospitality industry mindset
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as meticulous attention to detail
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Sharepoint)
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritize multiple projects
    • Must successfully function as a team player in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment, working cooperatively with all levels of employees
