    WHAT ROLE DOES AN EXECUTIVE STEWARD PLAY IN OUR COMPANY?

    Cleanliness is critical in the restaurant business. People come for the food and service, but if a restaurant isn’t clean, they probably won’t come back. Our Executive Steward is a senior member of our management team because they understand the importance of that.

    OPERATIONS

    Bartolotta Restaurants are a big part of the Milwaukee dining scene. Having 10 restaurants and 3 catering venues across a wide spectrum of the styles and cuisines, they are recognized leaders in their markets. Each has a General Manager and Executive Chef with whom our Executive Steward works closely to ensure cleanliness and equipment readiness.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Washing dishes is only a small part of the duties overseen by our Executive Steward. He/She is also responsible for the cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, the inventory, storage and maintenance of all dishware, serving ware, glassware and serving dishes across all venues. Their knowledge of safety and sanitation regulations will assist them in guiding and training service and culinary teams. And his/her compliance responsibilities will be shared with our entire team. Our Executive Steward will set, and monitor standards and workflow related to achieving the company’s safety and sanitation goals and its equipment inventory and maintenance.

    BUSINESS PARTNER

    Safety, organization and cleanliness are critical elements of a successful restaurant business, and our Executive Steward is the lead professional from who we all gain knowledge and support. He/she will be responsible for the planning and budgets for those programs and will manage them for an appropriate Return on Investment.  That return will be reflected in our financials, performance, customer satisfaction, employee performance and satisfaction, and community relations.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an Executive Steward capacity is required
    • Other general hospitality service and leadership experience preferred
    • A minimum of an Associate Degree in a related field preferred.
