This role will be focused on a combination of key responsibilities including collection support for some of the largest U.S. direct customer accounts while providing critical process improvement and strategy analytic support for the U.S. collections operation.

• Performs advanced credit and collection functions to ensure timely collection, resolution, and/or escalation of issues to appropriate commercial teams.
• Increase visibility and understanding of key performance drivers enabling the continued development, refinement, and evaluation of enhanced collection strategies and processes.
• Lead process improvement and strategy development initiatives to drive increased $s collected while improving overall Cash Flow & DSO.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PROVIDE COLLECTION SUPPORT FOR THE LARGEST U.S. DIRECT CUSTOMERS (20%)

• Perform collection activities for the US direct portfolio to ensure invoices are paid according to contractual payment terms. This involves ensuring accurate billing and prompt collection.

• Resolves customer questions, complaints, and requests that may be varied and complex. Resolution may involve applying advanced knowledge and interpreting policy.

• Escalate accounts as appropriate to Manager of Credit and Collections, Senior Credit & Collections Manager, and/or Vice President of Finance

IDENTIFY AND LEAD COLLECTION PROCESS IMPROVEMENT / AUTOMATION INITIATIVES (35%)

• Complete on-going assessment of demand & capacity of the Credit and Collections team

• Assist with the prioritization of the process improvement initiatives

• Collaborate with collection teams (Deerfield & Costa Rica) to deploy streamlined / automated processes enhancements

DEVELOP, ENHANCE, AND EVALUATE COLLECTION STRATEGIES (35%)

• Identify value capture opportunities

• Develop new account targeting / prioritization strategy

• Develop enhanced collection targeting, contact, messaging, and conversion strategies

• Produce analytic insights regarding collection performance / DSO trends and provide recommendations

• Evaluate effectiveness / profitability of collection strategies

PROVIDE STRATEGIC PROJECT SUPPORT (10%)

• Leverage collections knowledge and experience in support of ad-hoc projects

• Provide continuous process improvement support

• Develop and review enhanced performance driver reporting and DSO / AR internal forecasts

• Assist with enhancing the collaboration and coordination with the Sales organization

QUALIFICATIONS:

TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY.

• Self-starter with strong thought leadership, problem solving, and analytic skills.
• Strong technical and financial knowledge including understanding of relevant business environment.
• Knowledge of the collection operation and related U.S. business.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) is required while knowledge or experience with credit and collections management software preferred (i.e. GetPaid).
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize & manage multiple tasks concurrently. Owns career and is accountable for managing own development.
• Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
• Able to apply and adapt procedures and knowledge to independently solve problems.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and operate within designated time constraints to help drive service levels and DSO performance.
• Able to work effectively with all levels of management, in a team-oriented environment (often cross-functionally) and collaboratively with internal / external business partners.
• Must have a continuous improvement mindset to help to identify root cause of issues and initiate process improvement.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

INCLUDE THE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE THAT IS NECESSARY TO PERFORM THE JOB SATISFACTORILY.

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Statistics or related field (or country equivalent)

Demonstration of key finance competencies and qualifications along with 4+ years of relevant experience with a focus on strategy analysis and process improvement

Minimum of 3 - 4 years in customer contact environment and previous collections experience is preferred
