    DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

    As a healthcare company, Baxter must comply with laws and regulations regarding our interactions with healthcare professionals and organizations. The Transparency Reporting Team supports these efforts through its application of Baxter’s Global Interactions Policy (GIP) and reporting through the iInteract system / tool. We ensure accurate and complete reporting of payments made by Baxter to the medical community for all US and Canadian transaction processes for transfer of value reporting and compliance with the GIP. The team works with Baxter business teams in training, monitoring and controlling these transactions across the US and Canada.   Comprehensive and holistic data reviews, process improvements, and system recommendations for enhancing the effectiveness of US and Canadian transparency reporting and controls is a key part of our role.  The team will ensure policy, processes and systems enable Baxter to comply with legal/regulatory requirements, especially those required by the Federal Physician Payment (“Sunshine”) Act, including State reporting.   Additional responsibilities include the development, update and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.  The team works closely with members of Baxter’s finance, legal, ethics and compliance and regulatory law teams. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Serve as subject matter expert in compliance with the Global Interactions Policy (GIP) the iInteract tool and related policies
    • Assist in educating internal staff and service providers on GIP documentation, related processes and system
    • Assist and guide business partners with preapprovals, contracts and payment requests related to Baxter’s interactions with the medical community
    • Review all types of iInteract requests, contracts and service agreements for accuracy and compliance to policy
    • Proactively address compliance issues and escalate to the Ethics and Compliance, Finance or Legal teams when required
    • Work closely with global business units and franchise functional areas on correctly categorizing and documenting transactions with the medical community
    • Assist with annual CMS transparency reporting as well as state reporting
    • Subject Matter Expert for building, revising, managing and acting as a liaison for all iInteract Operations systems and platforms including SharePoint and iInteract
    • Identification and implement process improvement initiatives
    • Update and Create Standard Operating Policy and Desktop Procedures

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations or computer science
    • Five or more years of experience within Quality, Finance, IT Regulatory, Paralegal, Audit and/or equivalent data management/controlled documentation role preferred

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Great attention to detail and process are necessary.
    • Must be comfortable working and operating with cross-functional teams and different levels of management within the organization, as well as communicating with others outside the organization.
    • Must be a team player and partner with business customers.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to enforce policy, process and system requirements required.
    • Must be able to prioritize and handle multiple projects and tasks concurrently.
    • Must be able to work under strict deadlines and changing priorities with minimal supervision.
    • Strong organizational and good problem-solving skills required.
    • Knowledge of product data/document management systems desirable.
    • Must have well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Strong PC/system skills; Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Project management and prior experience with process improvement projects desirable
