    Position: Senior Manager, Third-Party Resilience
    Status: Direct-Hire, Permanent FTE
    Location: Based in one of these locations in order of preference: Stamford, CT, Saint Louis, MO, or Denver, CO – Hybrid in the office 3 days/week
    Salary: Based on Experience

    7+ years of experience in third-party risk management, business continuity, operational risk, operational resilience, or related role coupled with 3+ years of experience leading or managing third-party risk, business continuity, operational risk, operational resilience, or related teams.

     

     

    Overview

    We have a client actively seeking a Sr Manager, Third Party Resilience, to be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a robust third-party risk management processes and procedures, while working closely with various stakeholders across the organization to assess, monitor, and mitigate risks associated with third-party vendors, suppliers, and partners. This role will support the design, implementation, and maintenance of the Company’s Third-Party Risk Management Framework for the Business Continuity Office.


    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.
    • Support the design and implementation of the Company’s Third-Party Risk Management Framework for the Business Continuity Office.
    • Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of third-party vendors to identify potential risks and vulnerabilities to the Company.
    • Perform thorough due diligence on prospective third-party vendors to evaluate their reliability, security posture, and compliance with industry regulations and standards.
    • Collaborate with legal and procurement teams to review and negotiate contracts with third-party vendors, ensuring that appropriate risk mitigation measures are included.
    • Implement ongoing monitoring mechanisms to track the performance of third-party vendors throughout the lifecycle of the relationship.
    • Develop and maintain incident response plans to address disruptions involving third-party vendors, coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders as necessary.
    • Conduct training sessions and awareness campaigns to educate employees on third-party risk management best practices and procedures.
    • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the status of third-party risk management activities, including identified risks, mitigation strategies, and compliance efforts.
    • Partner with other Business Continuity and function/ business leaders to apply appropriate protocols and prevent third-party risks.
    • Assist in evolving the capabilities of the organization's Business Continuity program.
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Qualifications:

    • Demonstrated experience implementing and supporting various technology solutions
    • Proficiency with IT systems, including endpoints, servers, networking, data storage, and cloud services, is essential. Experience with relevant technologies, including backup solutions, virtualization, and cloud resiliency methods, is desired.
    • Familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 22301, FFIEC guidelines, NIST SP 800-34, and ITIL.
    • Business understanding and the ability to apply technology solutions to business problems.
    • Analytical skills and ability to process and break down data into actionable information.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills and capable of presenting to influential audiences.
    • Ability to communicate to technical and non-technical audiences and tailor communications appropriately.
    • Leadership qualities to guide and motivate teams during recovery efforts and in day-to-day tasks.
    • Effective negotiation and vendor management skills.
    • Ability to work calmly under pressure and with tight deadlines.

    Required Experience & Education:

    • Experience in third-party risk management, business continuity, operational risk, operational resilience, or related role – 7+
    • Experience leading or managing third-party risk, business continuity, operational risk, operational resilience, or related teams – 3+
    • Demonstrated understanding of risk assessment methodologies and industry standards
    • Effective analytical skills with the ability to identify and evaluate potential risks and vulnerabilities
    • Ability to lead and participate in multiple projects simultaneously
    • Ability to manage complex projects and provide solutions to business challenges
    • Effective communication and presentation skills
    • Ability to work in a federated model using influencing and supporting skills
    • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management
    • Ability to work independently with minimal instructions
    • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field: business continuity, risk management, operational resilience or equivalent or combination of education and experience

     

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Certified professional designations such as Certified Third-Party Risk Professional (CTPRP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), etc.), are highly desirable
    • Experience in third-party risk management, vendor management, or related roles within the telecommunications industry
