    PROGRAM OVERVIEW

    The Procurement Development Program's mission is to improve BD's procurement leadership base by recruiting entry-level associates who seek to become procurement leaders. BD strives to develop and expose PDP associates to multiple functions and business units while broadening their procurement experience.

    PROGRAM FEATURES

    The Procurement Development Program consists of multiple rotations covering three years in total. The program is structured to advance proficiency in procurement, leadership skills, and common proficiencies across a range of procurement roles encouraging growth in preparation for a career in procurement.

    TYPICAL FIRST ROTATION: ANALYTICS COE

    The PDP Associate will become familiar with crucial strategic sourcing and procurement processes through various analytical assignments within categories and operational initiatives-exposure to groups, spend, and suppliers also contribute to knowledge and capability.

    TYPICAL SECOND ROTATION: STRATEGY EXPERIENCE

    The PDP Associate will actively participate as a commodity team member and develop a deeper understanding of the procurement process and key supplier-facing activities within one or more categories of spend.

    TYPICAL THIRD ROTATION: COE PROCUREMENT EXPERIENCE

    Other learning opportunities include Risk Management, Supplier Diversity, Responsible Sourcing, Operations, and continued support of procurement activities.

    The PDP Associate will have the opportunity to own direct responsibility for a specific category and an associated savings target. The associate may participate in supplier negotiations, continuous improvement activities, or lead key strategy implementation projects. The associate will continue to build a capability in strategic sourcing and leadership skills.

    PROGRAM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Recent graduate with a BS degree in Business, Procurement, Purchasing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or other related major upon start of the program.

    • Proven leadership ability with strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, negotiation, and quantitative skills; intellectual curiosity, and a natural drive for results

    • The desire to learn beyond the area of immediate academic focus

    • Interest in a career in the medical technology industry.

    • Experience as an intern in the Medical/Pharmaceutical Company preferred

    • Flexibility to relocate during the rotational program as required

    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction as to duration.
