    Job Description

    ASSOCIATE MANAGER, PROGRAM MANAGER – WORLDWIDE ENGINEERING

    Location: Irvine CA

    6 month contract with possibilities for extension

    The successful candidate will join the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Worldwide Engineering (WWE) PMO Team with responsibility for managing one or more projects to ensure project success throughout the project life cycle. The WWE portfolio serves our global manufacturing partners and suppliers base with innovative and focused solutions to complex challenges. The successful candidate will initiate, plan, execute, and manage all aspects of technical projects for WWE to ensure project success.

    Essential job functions:

    • Oversees all aspects of the project management life cycle from initiation to closure.
    • Leads cross-functional groups comprising of Engineering, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, and others to develop business cases and project plans including the charter, schedule, budget, risks and issues of the project.
    • Establishes robust communication plans to ensure all stakeholders are engaged on the project plans and progress against established milestones.
    • Proactively manages risks/issues and changes to project plans and leads the team in strategic planning to provide appropriate recommendations for mitigations or recovery. Utilizes leadership skills to facilitate conflict resolution and problem solving within project team environment.
    • Establishes and maintains team member and project stakeholder relationships, expectations, and communications. Manages resources on projects to ensure proper allocations are assigned and aligned to business priorities.
    • Measures project performance using appropriate tools and techniques in order to monitor the progress of the project, identify and quantify variances, perform required corrective actions, and communicates to all stakeholders.
    • Serves as a project management subject matter expert, including guiding and mentoring other project managers or leaders
    • Actively leads Project Management Office (PMO) continuous improvement activities.
    • Assist PMO Leader with Portfolio management related initiatives, including program reviews, portfolio reporting, deployment of training/development activities.
    • Up to 25% travel.
    • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

     Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of hands-on experience managing engineering projects of increasing complexity.

     Preferred Qualifications:

    • Engineering degree, Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification, Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt Certification preferred.
    • 5 years of project management experience, preferably from within the medical device industry.
    • Strong leadership, strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization.
    • Excellent documentation, communication and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management.
    • Ability to manage competing priorities and drive achievement of objectives.
    • Demonstrated track record in program and project management by managing resources, scope, risks, and tracking milestones.
    • Proficient in usage of MS Office Suite, especially MS Project and MS Visio.
    • Knowledge and utilization of Clarizen PPM tool desired.
