  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Review and negotiate commercial contracts; including NDA's, construction and engineering agreements, master service and vendor related agreements
    • Provide analysis and recommendations to management teams regarding project contract terms and post construction claims
    • Strong advocate for company’s position in variety of situations striking appropriate balance between limiting company’s risk and preserving and developing company’s relationships with customers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers.
    • Provide practical legal advice to project management and execution teams; regarding a wide variety of commercial project matters, including contract compliance, change order documentation, project notices, and subcontractor management.
    • Actively support business unit management teams to understand legal needs of the business, acting in a preventative and proactive manner.
    • Assist General Counsel in the management of disputes, claims and litigation.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited university
    • Licensed to practice law in California
    • Significant experience in the review, documentation and negotiation of commercial contracts; including NDA's, construction and engineering agreements, master service and vendor related agreements
    • Project experience relative to contracts, change orders and post construction claims
    • Demonstrated ability to select and manage outside counsel resources to obtain highest value for company. 
    • Highly collaborative when leading a team and when being part of a team
    • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to get along well with diverse personalities, while in a fast-paced dynamic environment
    • Strong attention to detail, process development and organizational management
    • Highly organized in working, thinking and prioritizing
    • Creative problem solver with keen intellect
    • Excellent analytical, communication, legal research, and writing skills
    • Able to travel domestically and internationally.

    DESIRED:

    • Legal experience within the material handling or industrial automation industry.
