    Job Description

    The position of Intern, Information Technology is a hands-on job requiring excellent organizational and communication skills. Through this role you will learn through coaching and doing - install, deploy, maintain, troubleshoot Windows based system servers, workstations, and laptops. Responsibility for maintaining network functionality plays a large role in this job. As this role support first/second level support, general tasks include system monitoring, problem resolution, and/or escalation of issues pertaining to critical IT systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work closely with North American IT team through direct collaboration with various stakeholders.
    • Monitor the company network, including backups, security audits, networking configuration, software configuration and upgrades, and expansion and replacement work.
    • Support phone, internet, systems, and infrastructure.
    • Assist in IT support for main office, subsidiary offices, and remote users.
    • Learn and engage in 1st Level Technical Support.
    • Support software installations and configurations.
    • Diagnosis and troubleshooting about issues with network devices.
    • IT inventory management, as well as maintenance of printers and computers.
    • Local Active Directory User management.
    • Following written documentation to provide problem resolution and escalating to tiered level IT support as required.
    • Collaborate with 2nd level support on technical topics out of scope.
    • Support and communicate critical incidents.
    • Administer current and new user accounts for domain access, phones, emails, and other services.
    • Set up new hire computers and devices.
    • Support the technology department with day-to-day projects and tasks.
    • Perform remote software installations and updates.
    • Assist with documentation for network and system configurations.
    • Coordinate with vendors for repair, replacement and maintenance of hardware, software, and technology services.
    • May be assigned to special projects or required to perform other duties not listed above, which may vary from time to time as determined by management, to meet company needs.

    REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Completed minimum of 2 years of professional study and in pursuit or hold a bachelor's degree in a related technical IT field.
    • Preferable prior internship or work experience Service Desk, Help Desk, Jr Systems Admin, or another Field Technical IT Support Role.
    • Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and networks.
    • Experience in documenting processes and monitoring performance metrics.
    • Ability and interest to keep up with technical innovation and trends in IT support.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple Projects.
    • Exceptional customer service orientation — able to identify and understand needs and ensure a result to a request.
    • Excellence in communication (both verbal and written).
    • Able to execute multiple tasks and work well under pressure, sense of urgency and thoroughness.
    • Professional, positive, and energetic attitude.
