Job Summary
A Field Survey CAD Technician is responsible for supporting land surveying activities by conducting field surveys and assisting in the creation of detailed CAD drawings and maps. This role involves working both in the field and in an office environment, collaborating with surveyors and engineers to produce precise survey documents. Responsibilities
Transfer field data to computer-aided design (CAD) software
Assist in the preparation of survey drawings, maps, and plans.
Create and update CAD files, incorporating collected data, survey notes, and relevant information.
Collaborate with licensed surveyors and engineers to assist in survey projects.
Conduct research to gather information on property deeds, land records, and historical survey data.
Participate in the resolution of survey-related issues as they arise.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in surveying, CAD technology, or related field is preferred.
Proficiency in using surveying instruments and CAD software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation.
Knowledge of surveying principles, techniques, and industry standards.
Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) is a plus.
