About the candidate BIGfish is seeking an ambitious, detail-oriented, strategic thinker to act as PR Specialist for several of our firm’s PR clients. This person should have: • A public relations or communications degree and a minimum of three years of relevant PR experience • PR agency experience in the technology, B2B, and/or consumer industries • A track recording of delivering results for clients • The desire to be a part of a fast-moving, collaborative, small team ABOUT THE JOBThe PR Specialist plays an important role in supporting the Vice President of Accounts in the execution of strategic PR programs. This person will primarily focus on strategic planning and the execution of creative PR and corporate communication campaigns on behalf of BIGfish clients. Additionally, the PR Specialist will maintain strong relationships with both reporters and BIGfish clients and play a role in mentoring the junior account team staff. Responsibilities: PUBLIC RELATIONS • Develop and execute strategic, well-written public relations campaigns that deliver top-tier, on-target client coverage • Effectively execute public relations campaigns through media outreach, content creation, and event participation to drive measurable results • Become an expert on clients’ businesses and industries to generate story ideas and develop newsworthy strategic PR programs • Monitor, report and evaluate campaign success and adjust when necessary • Maintain strong relationships with the press • Coordinate events, awards, and speaking engagements for assigned clients ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT • Provide professional PR and marketing counsel and superior account service to assigned BIGfish clients • Manage day-to-day client activities for assigned clients, including researching, planning, implementing, and evaluating activities, paying careful attention to budgets, resources, deadlines, and client records • Maintain close and frequent contact with assigned BIGfish clients and continually strive to strengthen relationships with them • Run weekly/bi-weekly calls with assigned clients and coordinate scheduling, agendas, and notes • Coordinate and supervise staff and vendors needed to carry out client service requirements • Oversee internship program • Participate in developing new business opportunities, as needed • Ensure that supervisor is kept fully informed on the activities of the team, media, and clients Qualifications: • EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree, concentration in PR • EXPERIENCE: 3-7 years • Excellent communicator • Skilled writer • Extremely organized • Professional demeanor • Eagerness to learn • Proficient multitasker • Resourcefulness • Drive to succeed • Attention to detail • Leadership qualities • Fast learner • Efficient worker Compensation: $60,000 - $85,000 yearly, based on experience
