    BKM Capital Partners is a growing firm, and we are looking for hardworking professionals that want to grow with us. Located in our Newport Beach, California office, the Acquisitions Analyst will play an integral role by supporting the acquisitions team in all aspects of the investment transaction process including deal sourcing, market analysis, financial analysis, due diligence, and internal investment reviews.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Financial Analysis: Perform financial analysis and underwriting for potential acquisition opportunities by utilizing Excel and Argus Enterprise. Prepare cash flow models that assist in the valuation process.
    • Transaction Execution: Assist with preparation of investment committee memoranda for recommended acquisition and disposition opportunities. Draft LOIs and assist in the due diligence/closing process by abstracting leases, reviewing estoppels, coordinating third parties, etc.
    • Market Analysis: Perform market research by utilizing CoStar and internal resources to create competitive sets and sale comp sets that will be utilized during the acquisition process to fine tune underwriting assumptions. Maintain thorough market awareness in targeted markets through direct research and reviewing third party research.
    • Asset Management: Manage the transition of assets between the Acquisitions and Asset/Portfolio  Management teams. Assist with hold/sell analyses by running “go-forward” buyer underwriting models.
    • Pipeline Management: Track potential acquisition opportunities by ensuring that BKM’s proprietary software called BKMIntel is updated with deals currently being evaluated. Prepare for the weekly pipeline meetings and present opportunities to the acquisition team.
    • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Serve as a resource for other BKM departments. Help answer questions relating to prior acquisitions and assets in the disposition pipeline. 
    • Investor Relations Resource: Send weekly pipelines to Investor Relations. Perform ad hoc investor request and due diligence questionnaires. Involved in co-investor solicitation and due diligence.  
    • BKMIntel: Ensure BKMIntel is updated with latest sale comps and perform a quarterly competitive set update. Work alongside the acquisition team to finalize the format/design for BKMIntel.
    • Network and collect information from the market including sourcing from national and local brokers on a weekly basis
    • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or other business discipline
    • 2+ years in financial analyst role within the commercial real estate field. Experience in the industrial sector a plus.
    • Strong Excel & Argus capabilities (building and proofing financial models)
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Strong organizational and administrative skills with keen attention to detail
    • Motivated and results-driven with strong work ethic
    • Ability to travel (5-10%) within the western region
    • Direct exposure to a fast growing, successful entrepreneurial culture
    • Lean team environment provides opportunity to work directly on live deals and learn all phases of the investment life cycle with a focus on the acquisitions team
    • Exposure to other departments in a fast-paced real estate fund manager and operator including acquisitions, property management, asset management, finance, and marketing
    • Insight into the real estate industry and analyzing multiple investment strategies in major markets west of, and including, Denver
    • Gainful experience with real estate analysis tools including CoStar, Excel, and deal pursuit tools

    THE QUALIFIERS: 

    • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, finance, economics, or other business discipline
    • 2+ years in financial analyst role within the commercial real estate field. Experience in the industrial sector a plus.
