    HR Manager at LA-Based Ad Agency - Full Time and Freelance, Remote, West Coast Hours

     This detail-oriented, forward-thinking problem solver is responsible for completing a variety of tasks to support the daily operations required of Human Resources for the agency. Duties include comparing HR laws to current policies and procedures, drafting templates for HR documents and working with executive team members to oversee the hiring, onboarding, and offboarding processes for agency employees. Reports to Chief of Operations.

    Responsibilities:

    • Working in tandem with executive team members, responsible for creating, updating and applying all HR policies and company guidelines and making sure they adhere to standards and laws initiated by authorities
    • Generating official internal documents such as offer letters, deal revision letters, salary slips and warning letters
    • Creating onboarding plans and educating newly hired employees on HR policies, internal procedures and regulations
    • Maintaining physical and digital files for employees and their documents, benefits and attendance records
    • Receiving employee performance evaluations for digital records and updating their pay scale upon upper management approval
    • Taking appropriate disciplinary action against employees who violate rules and regulations and addressing employee grievances
    • Ensuring employees follow all policies and procedures
    • Assessing reports provided by team leaders and managers to determine employee performance and training needs
    • Suggesting changes in policies and procedures based on employee and agency needs
    • Researching compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and help to administer employee benefits
    • Creating recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws
    • Supervising all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team
    • Attending interdepartmental meetings with other managers
    • Overseeing exit interviews and procedures
    • Promote a culture of innovation and teamwork while adhering to agency process.
    • Always be punctual and effectively manage your time while communicating proactively.
    • Identify/suggest new ways to improve process to help meet overall team, project and client
    • goals.

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in other HR positions
    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or other related fields
    • Experienced in conducting successful recruitment procedures as well as handling duties related to employee relations
    • Knowledge of administrative tasks and responsibilities
    • Advanced skills in data entry and processing, communication tools, human resources software and assisting with payroll
    • Excels in problem-solving and resourceful thinking
    • Strong empathy and interpersonal skills
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational prowess
    • Attention to detail and analytically driven
    • Exceptional written communication and presentation skills
    • Strong level of independence and efficiency
    • The ability to excel in a fast-paced and deadline-focused environment that is driven to produce world class results
    • Currently in the possession of an ego-free personality that can work with a highly motivated team to get shit done
    • A current Quickbooks and Google Products user
