Credit Balance / Collection Specialist - Full time, Mon - Fri, Days
Summary:
Primary responsibilities include working credit balances, insurance refunds and patient refunds to ensure each are handled in a timely manner. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to following up on self pay and insurance accounts.
Required Skills
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Must have skills necessary to operate the office equipment required to fulfill.
- Must have vast working knowledge of insurance contracts, and calculating proper reimbursements using insurance contracts.
- Computer knowledge required.
- Good communication skills essential.
- Responds to telephone and on-site inquiries from patient in a courteous, timely, and informative manner.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Work comp (Subscriber and non-subscriber) knowledge beneficial.
Required Experience
- 3+ years working in a hospital business office with experience working credit balances, insurance refund requests, patient refund requests and insurance/managed care collections required.
