    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen's National Account Manager is a leadership position responsible for mentoring and managing other Integrated Account Reps, Innovation Specialist and/or support staff while also developing and implementing sales strategies for increasing profitable sales growth in assigned customers engaged in Integrated Supply. In addition, they build and enhance customer relationships in pursuit of selling the organization’s solutions, products, and services to achieve performance goals in areas of sales, gross margin, profitability, value propositions and other customer contractual commitments.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

    • Identifies, establishes, and manages effective customer relationships with key senior-level decision makers, stakeholders, and influencers within assigned large national account to formulate, sell, and execute strategic supply chain solutions.
    • Gathers and analyzes customer economical and operational requirements for multiple indirect commodity long-term sourcing and cost-control strategies; leads and participates in customer business reviews and site assessments to identify strategic business challenges and priorities; lead teams in analyzing information and prioritizing opportunities critical to the customer.
    • Demonstrates advanced industry, commodity, and/or supply chain knowledge of the business, prepares creative outsourcing opportunity plans and designs projected financial models that showcase Vallen’s capabilities and service offerings.
    • Coordinates Vallen’s sales activities at the customer levels to insure alignment with the customer’s corporate initiatives.
    • Supports contract negotiations for profitable, multi-year solution and service opportunities.
    • Works with Site leadership to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
    • Negotiate unique supplier contracts or source new preferred vendors.
    • Provides leadership to and oversees the execution of multiple project plans simultaneously; provides approval for or drives corrective action for plan deviations; prepares and provides project status reports to customer and Vallen leadership teams as scheduled or requested.
    • Staff management responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, selecting, hiring, coaching, counseling, and disciplining associates while enforcing company policies, procedures, and productivity standards
    • Contributes to strategies focused on new and organic growth by expanding Vallen’s program within assigned client base.  Appropriately engages business development, suppliers, and other sales resources when leads are uncovered; assists with and/or participates in sales presentations as requested.
    • Initiates, identifies and presents new innovation, continuous improvement ideas, leads projects to completion and ensures cost savings commitments are exceeded and are captured in Vallen VPP and/or customers ERP system.
    • Ensures assigned area is meeting and/or exceeding budget goals and expectations; assist with proposing annual financial projections and goal expectations. Collaborates with Site management to ensure team resources are used effectively and both productivity and profitability targets are met.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    10+ years of experience in supply chain management, wholesale distribution, industrial distribution, manufacturing  or a similarly applicable industry (indirect materials a plus)

    • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, sales and customer service skills
    • Demonstrated financial stewardship and business acumen
      • Management and analysis of P&L (preferably in excess of $20m)
      • Ability to produce and interpret various financial forecast models
      • Success with designing profitable business proposals
    • Demonstrated consultative selling skills and the ability to create value add savings and close sales opportunities
    • Ability to mentor staff to develop succession and professional development.
    • Strong project management, communication, planning, organizational, time management, problem solving, sales and customer service skills.
    • Proficiency with MS-Office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint,) and the technical aptitude to learn all company specific programs and software applications.
    • Strong presentation skills with professional presence to deliver materials to a C-level executive audience (internally and/or externally)

  • Qualifications
    • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with staff, patients, guarantors, insurance companies, and physicians.  
    • Demonstrated attention to detail; Good English speaking, spelling, reading and Mathematical skills required  
    • Demonstrate ability to learn quickly, and follow directions as outlined in policies or given by Supervisor
    • Strong Computer skills and Knowledge in Word, Excel and ability to maneuver through multiple screens in a timely manner
    • 1+ year of medical office /hospital/medical billing work experience preferred
    • Medical terminology knowledge strongly preferred
    • Insurance knowledge required
    • Ability to multi-task in a fast and high pressured environment
    • Stringent adherence to all HIPAA laws
    • Strong typing skills 45 and up wpm is required
    • Strong analytical skills, problem solving. The ability to act and decide accordingly.
    • Excellent Customer service and phone skills with a background in the medical industry
    • Ability to travel to off-site locations (Outpatient only)
