As a Warehouse Lead, you will be expected to fully understand the warehouse processes to proficiently supervise and lead warehouse activities. Activities include those related to receiving, storing, picking, shipping, dispatching, labeling, and cycle counting of materials for Branch 3 customers and supporting the branch shipping needs. You will also be expected to assist the team in daily activities.
Your team’s job will be to make sure that every completed order and every customer experience reflects our mission and high standards. This is accomplished on your end by guaranteeing that all warehouse employees can fulfill their job requirements and maintain success. The Lead must continually be looking for opportunities to better ensure success and efficiency, leaving customers with a satisfactory order experience. You will be responsible for keeping open lines of communication between the warehouse and sales and providing order updates as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain liaison with customers, internal and external, and other related persons to communicate information related to deliveries, irregularities in shipments, shipment delays, and other related matters.
- Supervise, coordinate, and participate in special and scheduled distribution center material inventories as required.
- Back up to VMI driver making quarterly visits to Solar Turbines.
- Recommend changes in procedures as needed to ensure stock is safeguarded, stored, and picked accurately. This includes best practices in packing correctly and shipping accurately, using insurance as appropriate. For example, forklift users must be trained and certified. Make the warehouse a safe, respectful, and clean place to work.
- Read orders such as customer, work, shipping, and transfer orders to determine products to be moved, gathered, labeled, or distributed.
- Convey material and products from the receiving area to storage or designated areas.
- Scan, sort, and place material on racks, shelves, and/or bins according to predetermined distribution center location.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place them on pallets or shelves; or convey orders to packing station or shipping department.
- Individual is directly responsible for supervising the work of the warehouse team.
